Put Your Can’t Down and Do It Anyway…This is a Great New Day!

Tina & Martha Hitchcock

With one small gesture you can change a person’s life. God puts us all in each other’s lives to impact one another in some way. Look for God in others. The best and most beautiful things cannot be seen or touched—they must be felt with the heart.&mdashHelen Keller

When Martha Hitchcock was a senior in high school, before she would be faced with a time of incredible personal challenges, she volunteered with Northern Valley Catholic Social Service in a program that helped pregnant and parenting teens learn life skills. She was drawn to serve those less fortunate than she. “Not everyone has the friends and family that I’ve had”, she insists, “NVCSS is that helping hand that everyone needs.” Despite the trials and tribulations that life has brought her way, including losing her sight while battling cancer, Martha has remained strong, faith-filled, and focused. She is a profound reminder that one person can make a difference. NVCSS is humbled and honored to recognize the courage and inspiration of Martha Hitchcock.

Tina Hitchcock, Martha's mother, invites you to become one of Martha's Heroes by making a contribution to NVCSS in her name. All contributions will help Shasta County programs of NVCSS.
