Create a Blue Ribbon Tree for Kids

in Your Community
  Blue Ribbon Tree

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month. We invite every community to take action for children by creating a blue ribbon tree. The blue ribbon is the international sign for child abuse prevention and is a reminder that all children deserve a safe, nurturing, and happy childhood.

Where do I participate? Anywhere in Tehama County, with the permission of the owner of the tree.

When do I participate? Trees should be displayed during the entire month of April. Register your Blue Ribbon Tree in the Tree Registry.

How do I participate? Any community group or individual can make a difference in the life of a child. Make a difference and “Build a Blue Ribbon Tree”.

  1. Select a Tree or Construct a tree (out of any materials you choose). If utilizing a live tree, choose one that has high visibility.
Note: Please ask permission if required and be respectful of the tree.

  2. Decorate tree with Blue Ribbons (store bought or home-made)

  3. Register here.
