The Butte Baby Steps program is a national program model designed to help expectant and new parents get their children off to a healthy start. The program serves Oroville and South Butte County families, and must enroll at 24 years of age and younger and are either expecting or have a child under the age of 3 months. Families participate voluntarily in the program and receive weekly home visiting and service referrals from trained staff. By providing services to overburdened families, Healthy Families America® fits into the continuum of services provided to families in many communities. Butte Baby Steps is funded by Butte County 1st Five Children and Families Commission, Butte Baby Steps is an affiliate of Healthy Families America®.
